OUR STORY

olive leaf branches

Chris & Britney met on Saturday, September 14th, 2019, for a date after being matched on Facebook Dating. For their first date, they met in the parking lot at Starbucks, where they shared in introductions and great conversation. Britney & Chris continued their date with a 7+ mile hike at Castlewood State Park in Ballwin, Missouri that same morning. It was on that hike, during conversation at an overlook, where Chris knew that Britney was “The One”. Neither of them wanted to end the date after that 2.5-hour hike, so they finished their first date at Cooper’s Hawk restaurant where they grabbed lunch and talked about their personal testimonies and faith in the Lord.

From that point on, the relationship bloomed! Britney & Chris love cooking together and grilling, while spending time with their friends in social gatherings. It was only 7 weeks into their relationship when Chris met Britney’s parents and siblings in Dallas, TX for what they call the “Dallas Love Trip” …they flew Southwest into Love Field. Not long after that was when Britney and Chris flew to Arizona for Thanksgiving, so Britney could meet Chris’ family for the first time! Traveling is a priority they both share together, so they love taking Chris’ 4 kids on adventures together! Recent vacations include visiting Florida, Texas, Colorado, California, Arizona, and Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

Britney & Chris are part of a church Small Group at McKnight Crossing where they have been diving into the Word together along with multiple Christian couples and church members. As followers of Christ being a strong value in their relationship, they attribute their marriage to Ecclesiastes 4:12, having Jesus Christ as their 3rd cord strand and helper.

Chris planned the wedding proposal to relive the entire first date, proposing on August 7th, 2020 at the same overlook at Castlewood where he knew Britney was the one from the start and followed with a surprise celebration and champagne congratulations at Cooper’s Hawk. Britney and Chris are excited about their new future together in love and marriage with Britney becoming the cherished “Bonus” Mom of his 4 children: Faith, Jedidiah, Judah, and Christian

HIS STORY

Christopher David Omlor, was born on November 5, 1977, to the parents of David P. & Maureen M. Omlor in Dayton, Ohio. Chris has an older sister, Amanda, who is married to her husband, Danny Richter. Chris’ younger sister, Lisa, also resides in San Diego and is an X-ray Technician.

Growing up, Chris’ family moved around as his father was in the Air Force. Some of his greatest memories came from living in Germany, Vandenberg AFB California, and Mesa, Arizona with his family. His favorite sport is soccer, while being a thrill seeker with various sports, skateboarding and biking as a young kid. Growing up, his family enjoyed many family vacations, theme parks, camping, boating, and regular beach outings together growing up in Central Coast California.

Having 4 children is Chris’ greatest joy of all! His kiddos, Faith (15), Jedidiah (14), Judah (11), and Christian (9) were all born in Mesa, Arizona where they grew up until they moved to Houston, Missouri in 2015. In fact, Chris met Britney exactly 1 week after he and the kids moved to Alton, Illinois (outside of St. Louis).

Chris has his own business as an entrepreneur in website design and online marketing. Chris enjoys working out in his free time and is very good in the kitchen with his background as a cook and restaurant manager.

Britney Dionne Wekesser, was born the morning of March 2, 1986, to the parents of Robert. A. and Karen N. Wekesser in Lincoln, Nebraska. Britney has an identical twin sister, Bethany, who is her Maid-Of-Honor. Her older sister, Jinohn, lives in Dallas, who will be her Bridesmaid as well as her older brother, Dustin, a Groomsman.

After receiving a full-ride scholarship to Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and obtaining her BBA in Professional Selling in 2009, Britney moved to North Dallas and worked on her career in Sales and Operations until 2017. In April of 2017, Britney jumped at the opportunity to move to St. Louis, Missouri as a Regional Corporate Sales Manager for a large fitness provider.

Britney has planted deep roots in St. Louis and launched a GAL’s Bible Study that started in the fall of 2017. Britney’s St. Louis best friends come from her involvement with this Bible Study of GAL’s.

When Britney met Chris, she knew that he was God’s gift to her that she’s been praying for all her life. A huge blessing to the union of Chris & Britney is that she will be the Bonus Mom of 4 amazing children from Chris’ first marriage: Faith, Jedidiah, Judah, and Christian.
